Mark Matos – “Little Mountain”

Trans Van Santos (w/ Dead Meadow’s Jason Simon) Amnesia Music Hall, San Francisco, CA
Jason Simon’s first appearance on stage with Mark Matos and Dave Mihaly (the seeds of Old Mexico) is well chronicled here with an absolutely slippery early take on “Forward Escape”. The film was shot by the late Kindred Parker and his DP Basil Galloway, and later edited by Mark Matos.

Trans Van Santos – “Your Death Blues”
A song MM recorded for a Baby Gas Mask Records project. The song features the always compelling guitar work of Naim Amor, as well as the somewhat ill-advised moans of a clearly intoxicated Louise LeHir, may God bless her. Recorded in Tucson by the folks at Baby Gas Mask.

“Talk, Rock, Roll, Walk” – Trailer
This is a trailer for a proposed film/video series that never made it out of pre-production. The DP moved to France, the executive producer died of a fentanyl overdose, the producer ended up divorced and living in his parents basement playing video games at 40 years old, and the director (Mark Matos) had a stroke and spent a few years convalescing in Portugal. There is always hope that this Les Blank inspired series will eventually pique the interest of a production company willing to finance and bring to fruition this worthwhile project.
